Bluetooth - Transfer files

 

To transfer files using Bluetooth, follow these steps:

 

Note: Bluetooth must be active on both devices. The device to which you are sending the file must be ready to receive files via Bluetooth.

 

  1. Locate the file you want to transfer (for example, an image in the gallery).
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Share (Compartir).
  4. Tap Bluetooth.
  5. If necessary, turn on Bluetooth.
  6. If necessary, tap Scan for devices (Buscar dispositivos).
  7. Tap the Bluetooth device you want to share the file with.
  8. If prompted on the other device, accept the transfer.

 

 

Bluetooth - Turn off and disconnect

 

To turn off Bluetooth connectivity, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings (Ajustes de Bluetooth).
  5. Tap the name of the device you want to unpair.
  6. Tap Unpair (Desvincular).
  7. Tap the Bluetooth check box to turn off Bluetooth.

 

 

Bluetooth - Turn on and pair

 

To turn on Bluetooth and pair with another device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Bluetooth settings (Ajustes de Bluetooth).
  5. If necessary, tap the Bluetooth check box to turn on Bluetooth.
  6. Tap Scan for devices (Buscar dispositivos).
  7. From the list, tap the device with which you want to pair.
  8. When prompted, tap Pair (Vincular) or enter the PIN and tap OK (Aceptar).
  9. On the other device, accept the pairing.

 

 

Infrared - Not supported

Edit application sync settings

 

To edit application sync settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Accounts & sync (Cuentas y sincronización).
  4. Tap to select or clear the Background data (Datos en segundo plano) check box to enable or disable background data synchronization.
  5. If prompted, tap OK (Aceptar).

Find your location

Disable

Friends - Add

 

To add friends to Latitude, follow these steps:

  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Select from Contacts (Seleccionar de Contactos)

      • Note: You must send each invitation to a friend’s Gmail address. When the friend accepts your invitation, their location appears on the map.

 

 

Friends - Remove

 

To remove friends from Latitude, follow these steps:

  3. Tap the friend you want to remove.

Settings - City level sharing

 

To turn City level sharing on or off for friends in Latitude, follow these steps:

    • Note: To unhide, follow these steps but, for the final step, tap Share best available location (Compartir mejor ubicación disponible) or Share only city level location (Compartir solo nivel de ciudad).

 

 

Settings - Set location automatically

 

To set Latitude to detect your location automatically, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Tap Latitude.
  3. Tap your name.
  4. Tap Edit privacy settings (Editar ajustes de privacidad).
  5. Tap Detect your location (Detectar tu ubicación).

To locate a T-Mobile HotSpot from your device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications (Aplicaciones) icon.
  2. Tap Browser (Navegador).
  3. Navigate to http://hotspot.t-mobile.com/
  4. Tap HotSpot Locations (Ubicaciones de HotSpot).
  5. Tap Go (Ir) to find a HotSpot location near you.
  6. Tap the text fields to enter your location information.
  7. Tap Submit (Aceptar).

 

 

Hotspot - Log in

 

To log in to a T-Mobile HotSpot from your device, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings (Configuraciones de Wi-Fi).
  5. Tap Wi-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi and scan for available networks, if necessary.
  6. Scroll to and tap the desired T-Mobile HotSpot.
  7. Tap Connect (Conectar).
  8. If prompted, tap OK (Aceptar) to sign in. You will be redirected to the Hotspot sign in Web page.
  9. Enter your User Name and Password, if necessary.
  10. Tap Log in (Acceder).

 

 

MAC address - Locate

 

To locate the Wi-Fi MAC address, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Scroll to and tap About phone (Acerca del teléfono).
  4. Tap Status (Estado).
  5. View Wi-Fi MAC address (Dirección MAC de Wi-Fi).

 

 

Network - Add from available

 

To add a new Wi-Fi network from available networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings (Configuraciones de Wi-Fi).
  5. Tap Wi-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi and scan for available networks, if necessary.

  7. If necessary, enter the password.

To scan for and connect to available Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).

  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings (Configuraciones de Wi-Fi).
  5. Tap Wi-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi, if necessary.
  6. Tap the Menu key.
  7. Tap Scan (Buscar).
  8. Scroll to and tap the network you want to connect to.
  9. Enter the password, if necessary.
  10. Tap Connect (Conectar).

 

 

Network - Delete

 

To delete a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings (Configuraciones de Wi-Fi).
  5. If necessary, tap Wi-Fi to turn on and view Wi-Fi networks.
  6. Touch and hold the Wi-Fi network you want to delete.
  7. Tap Forget network (Olvidar red).

 

 

Network - Edit details

 

To edit network details (such as a password) for a secure network you have previously connected to, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings (Configuraciones de Wi-Fi).
  5. Tap Wi-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi and scan for available networks, if necessary.
  6. Touch and hold the network you want to edit.
  7. Tap Modify network (Modificar red).
  8. Edit the password as desired.
  9. Tap Save (Guardar).

 

 

Wi-Fi - Turn on / turn off

 

To turn Wi-Fi on or off, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap to select or clear the Wi-Fi check box.

 

 

Wi-Fi - Wireless coverage indicators

 

To understand the different Wi-Fi coverage indicators on the display screen, refer to the following:

Wi-Fi Calling

 

Wi-Fi Calling improves your coverage and allows you to make phone calls and send messages over an available Wi-Fi network.

 

When the Wi-Fi Calling feature is turned on, your phone displays the Wi-Fi Calling wifi calling icon.bmp icon on the Notification bar. To make a Wi-Fi call, you must be within range of a Wi-Fi network. If you move outside the range of the Wi-Fi network, the phone will make an audible beep and then the call will drop.

 

 

To turn on Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Calling:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  5. Tap the Wi-Fi check box to turn on Wi-Fi, if necessary.
  6. Tap to select the desired network.
  7. Enter the password, if necessary.
  8. Tap Connect.
  9. From any Home screen, tap the Menu Menu key.bmpkey.
  10. Tap Applications.
  11. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  12. At the bottom of the screen, tap the On/Off icon to turn Wi-Fi Calling on or off.

Set Connection Preference

 

To set the connection preference to Wi-Fi or cellular, follow these steps:

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Wireless & networks.
  4. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling check box to turn on Wi-Fi Calling, if necessary.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi Calling Settings.
  6. Tap Connection Preferences.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred: All calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, then calls are made over the cellular network.
    • Wi-Fi Only: All calls are made over a Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, phone calls will not connect.
    • Cellular Preferred: All calls are made over the cellular network. If the cellular network is not available, then calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network.
  8. Tap OK.

Tethering & Wi-Fi Sharing

 

With Tethering, your phone can share its mobile data connection with a single computer using a USB cable. With Wi-Fi Sharing, your phone can share its mobile data connection with other devices, wirelessly.

 

To use Tethering and Wi-Fi Sharing, your unlimited data plan must include the Tethering and Wi-Fi Sharing add-on feature.

 

 

Connection Icons

 

When your phone is sharing its data connection, an icon appears on the Status bar at the top of your phone’s screen.

Tethering

 

Your phone can share its mobile data connection with a single computer via a USB cable.

 

Tethering works with Windows-® 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista®, Mac OS, and Linux. For more information about tethering and operating systems, visit www.android.com/tether.

 

For Windows XP, you must install the appropriate driver on your computer before you can tether. To install the driver, go to http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/TMUS_Update/index.jsp.

 

Note: When you connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable, you can EITHER tether OR access files on the phone’s memory card, but you cannot do both. If you want to use your computer to access the memory card, you must turn off tethering.

 

Tether Your Phone (Vincular tu teléfono)

 

To share your mobile data connection with a single computer by tethering, follow these steps:

 

  1. Connect a USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  4. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  5. Tap Tethering & Wi-Fi sharing (Anclaje a red y Wi-Fi compartido).
  6. Tap to select the USB tethering check box.
    • If prompted on a Windows XP computer, click Next to install the driver software via the Found New Hardware Wizard. If necessary, click Browse and navigate to My Computer or My Documents, then click Next.
    • If prompted on a Mac OS X computer, click Network Preferences to set up the Android phone network interface. Click Apply.
  7. Your phone starts sharing its mobile network data connection with your computer via the USB cable.
  8. When finished, disable tethering and then safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

 

 

Wi-Fi Sharing

 

You can share your mobile data connection with up to five other devices by turning your phone into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

 

Note: When your phone is serving as a Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices, you cannot access the Internet on the phone itself.

Wi-Fi Sharing turn on / off

 

To turn Wi-Fi sharing on or off, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Tethering & Wi-Fi sharing (Anclaje a red y Wi-Fi compartido).
  5. Tap the Wi-Fi sharing (Wi-Fi compartido) check box to enable or disable.
    • Your phone starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID). Your phone’s default SSID is LG-C729_##.

 

 

Configure Wi-Fi Sharing

 

To configure a Wi-Fi sharing, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Tethering & Wi-Fi sharing (Anclaje a red y Wi-Fi compartido).
  5. Tap to select the Wi-Fi sharing (Wi-Fi compartido) check box to enable Wi-Fi sharing, if necessary.
  6. Tap Wi-Fi sharing settings (Ajustes para Wi-Fi compartido).
  7. Tap Configure Wi-Fi sharing (Ajustes de Wi-Fi compartido).
  8. Tap the Network SSID (SSID de red) field to enter a new network name, if desired.
  9. Tap the Security (Seguridad) drop-down box and select from the following options:
    • Open (Abrir)
    • WPA2 PSK
  10. Tap the Password (Contraseña) field to enter a new password, if desired.
  11. Tap Done (Listo) to close the on-screen keyboard, if necessary.
  12. Tap Save (Guardar) when finished.

 

 

Connect Using Wi-Fi Sharing

 

To connect to your portable Wi-Fi hotspot, follow these steps:

 

  1. On your phone, from any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings (Configuración).
  3. Tap Wireless & networks (Conex. red inalámbrica).
  4. Tap Tethering & Wi-Fi sharing (Anclaje a red y Wi-Fi compartido).
  5. Tap to select the Wi-Fi sharing (Wi-Fi compartido) check box to enable Wi-Fi sharing.
  6. On the device you want to connect to your portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, open Wi-Fi settings.
  7. Scan for available networks, if necessary.
  8. Select your network SSID from the list.
  9. Enter the password and connect.
