Network, APN, and VoLTE: LG Stylo 3 Plus

Use these steps to support network settings on the LG Stylo 3 Plus.

 

 

 

APN & data settings

To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:

 

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. From the 'Networks' tab, tap More.
  3. Tap Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
  4. If available, tap the T-Mobile LTE APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap the Menu key, and then tap Add APN. A separate APN must be added manually for the Reset to default option to appear.
  5. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
    • APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
  6. Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.

 

Manual network selection

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. From the 'Networks' tab, tap More.
  3. Tap Mobile networks > Network operators > Search networks.
  4. The phone searches for networks. This takes several minutes.
  5. Tap to select the desired network. The phone registers you on that network.

 

Switch 2G / 4G

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. From the 'Networks' tab, tap More.
  3. Tap Mobile networks > Mobile networks.
  4. Tap Network mode.
  5. Tap one of the following desired band settings:
    • GSM / WCDMA / LTE (auto) (LTE setting)
    • GSM / WCDMA (auto)
    • WCDMA only
    • GSM only (2G only setting)

 

Turn on / off airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows app and menu use, but prevents voice or Internet use.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. From the 'Networks' tab, tap the Airplane mode switch to turn it on or off.
  3. If prompted, review the Airplane mode message and then tap OK.

 

Turn on / off data roaming

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. From the 'Networks' tab, tap More.
  3. Tap Mobile data > Menu.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Slide the Data roaming switch to turn it on or off.
  6. If prompted, review the Attention message and then tap Yes.

 

Turn on / off mobile data

  1. From any Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap the Networks tab.
  3. Tap Mobile data > Menu.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Slide the Mobile data switch to turn it on or off.

 

Turn on / off VoLTE

  1. From any home screen, tap Phone.
  2. Tap the Menu icon at the top right. You may need to remove the Pen Pop icon to see the Menu Icon.
  3. Tap Call settings.
  4. Slide the VoLTE switch to turn it on or off.
