Master reset: Alcatel OneTouch Evolve

    Learn how to master reset the Alcatel OneTouch Evolve using the menu or hardware keys.

     

     

     

    Master reset from settings menu

    A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

     

    1. Back up data on the internal memory.
    2. From any Home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
    3. Tap Settings.
    4. Scroll down to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Backup and reset.
    5. Scroll down to 'Personal data,' then tap Factory data reset.
    6. Tap Reset phone.
    7. Tap Erase everything.

     

    Master reset with hardware keys

    A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

     

    If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

     

    1. Back up data on the internal memory.
    2. Turn off the device.
    3. Remove the back cover.
    4. Remove the battery.
    5. Wait several seconds then reinstall the battery and replace the back cover.
    6. Press and hold down the Volume up key and the Power button at the same time until a menu screen appears.
    7. Press the Volume up button to highlight Recovery, then Volume down to select.
    8. Use the Volume down key to navigate to wipe data/factory reset.
    9. Press the Power button to select this option.
    10. Press Volume down to select "Yes -- delete all user data".
    11. Press Power button to select.
    12. The phone will reset, then press Power to select reboot system now.
