Backup & restore: Apple iPhone 4

Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the Apple iPhone 4.

 

 

 

Back up apps

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap iCloud. iCloud requires a Wi-Fi data connection.
  3. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. Tap Storage & Backup.
  5. Tap iCloud Backup to switch the slider ON.

 

Back up contacts

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap iCloud. iCloud requires a Wi-Fi data connection.
  3. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. Tap Contacts to switch the slider ON.
  5. If prompted, select to Merge contacts with iCloud.

 

Back up media & pictures

 

From phone

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap iCloud. iCloud requires a Wi-Fi data connection.
  3. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. Tap Photo Stream.
  5. Tap My Photo Stream to turn the slider ON.
  6. Tap Camera Roll to turn the slider ON.

 

From computer

Use iTunes to backup your information.

 

Restore apps

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap iCloud. iCloud requires a Wi-Fi data connection.
  3. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
  4. Tap Storage & Backup.
  5. Tap iCloud Backup to switch the slider ON.
