Network, APN, and VoLTE: ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fierce

Use these steps to support network settings on the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fierce.

 

 

 

APN & data settings

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Recent Apps key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More...
  4. Under 'Wireless & networks,' tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Access Point Names.
  6. If available, tap the T-Mobile US APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap the Recent Appskey, and then tap New APN. To reset your APN settings, tap the Menu key and then tap Reset to default.
  7. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
    • APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
  8. Tap the Menu key.
  9. Tap Save.
  10. Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.

 

Manual network selection

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Recent Apps key to bring up the Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.. to expand the menu.
  4. Tap Mobile networks
  5. Scroll to and select Network operators.
  6. Under 'Available networks,'  tap Select manually.
  7. Tap OK.
  8. After a few moments, tap the desired network.
  9. Tap OK.

 

Switch 2G / 4G

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Recent Apps key to bring up the Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.. to expand the menu.
  4. Tap Mobile networks
  5. Tap Network mode.
  6. Select the desired setting:
    1. WCDMA only (3G)
    2. GSM only (2G)
    3. GSM / WCDMA auto
    4. WCDMA

 

Turn on / off airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows app and menu use, but prevents voice or Internet use.

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Recent Apps key to bring up the Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under WIRELESS & NETWORKS, tap More:
  4. Select from the following:
    • Select Airplane mode to turn on.
    • Clear Airplane mode to turn off.

 

Turn on / off data roaming

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Recent Apps key to bring up the Menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'WIRELESS & NETWORKS,' tap More.. to expand the menu.
  4. Tap Mobile networks
  5. Scroll to and tap Data roaming.
  6. Under Roaming mode, tap Disable to turn off.
  7. To enable data roaming choose either:
    • National roaming only
    • All networks
  8. Tap OK to confirm.

 

Turn on / off mobile data

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'WIRELESS&NETWORKS,' tap More...
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap the Data enabled switch ON/OFF.
