Identify the device's current software version
Android 5.0.2 / Baseband Version D80130c
- From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
- Tap System settings.
- Tap the General icon to display that tab.
- Scroll down to 'System,' and then tap About phone.
- Tap Software information.
- Review the information in the Review software version details section below.

Determine update requirements
Your device must meet the following requirements to update your software to the most current version:
- Currently on D80130b
- 50% or higher battery life
- Available memory (File size is 51.4 MB)
Update software versions
Update automatically over the air (OTA) for D80130c
- Check that your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
- From the OTA notification prompt, tap Next.
- Wait while your device updates to the latest software.
- Your device will automatically restart when the update is complete
Update automatically over the air (OTA) for D80130b
- From Settings, tap General.
- Tap About phone.
- Tap Update center.
- Tap System updates.
- Tap Check now.
- Follow on screen prompts.
Update from a computer
Prepare the phone
- Fully charge the battery.
- Save any important data before updating the software on your device. Any data not saved on a micro SD card or PC may be erased (contacts, images, etc.)
- Remove the micro SD memory card.
- Close all open applications on your computer before proceeding with the update.
- Ensure device "Mass storage only" mode is NOT selected.
Install device drivers
In order to connect your phone to your PC, you must download and install the latest driver to your PC. Download the device driver from http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/TMUS_Update. After the driver has been installed, restart the computer.
Install LG Mobile Support Tool
In order to update the software on your phone, you must download and install the LG Mobile Support Tool to your PC. Download the LG Mobile Support Tool from http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/TMUS_Update.
Connect Device and Start Update
- Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable included with your device.
- Do not tap "Turn on USB storage" on your phone screen.
- Do not disconnect the USB cable until the update is complete.
- If you experience errors, ensure "Mass storage only" is not checked, check USB connection, or try another port.
- Click Start Updating in the LG Mobile Support Tool.
- When update is complete the LG Mobile Support Tool will display Update complete.
- The phone will turn off then turn on. Once the phone is powered on, the LG Mobile Support Tool will display the current software version. It is now OK to disconnect the USB cable from the phone.
