Wi-Fi calling: LG G2

Learn how to set up and use Wi-Fi calling and connection preference on the LG G2.

 

 

 

Turn on & connect

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register an E911 address and turn on Wi-Fi to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on Wi-Fi.
  5. Select the network you want to add.
  6. If security is enabled, enter the password and then tap Connect.
  7. If this is the first time you are using Wi-Fi calling, start with registering your 911 address and connection preference (above).
  8. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network.
  9. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  10. Tap System settings.
  11. Under 'Wireless Networks,' tap Tethering & networks.
  12. Scroll down to and tap the Wi-Fi Calling switch to turn on.

 

Set connection preference

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap System settings.
  3. Under 'Wireless Networks,' tap Tethering & networks.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  5. Tap Connection Preferences.
  6. Select one of the following options:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred: All calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, then calls are made over the cellular network.
    • Cellular Network Preferred: All calls are made over the cellular network. If the cellular network is not available, then calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network.
    • Never use Cellular Network: All calls are made over a Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, phone calls will not connect.
