Notifications & ringtones: LG G2

Learn how to set alerts, ringtones, and notifications on the LG G2.

 

 

 

Emergency alerts

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll down to and tap Emergency alerts.
  5. Select or clear check boxes for the following options. Presidential alerts cannot be turned off.
    • Imminent extreme alerts
    • Imminent severe alerts
    • Amber alerts

 

Incoming email

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Select one of the following:
    • Email
    • Gmail
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Select the account to edit.
  6. Scroll down to 'Notifications.'
  7. Select or clear the Notifications check box.

 

Ringtones

 

Ringtone for all calls

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to the Ringtones folder on your device.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap System settings.
  4. Tap Sound.
  5. Under 'Ringtone & Notification' tap Phone ringtone.
  6. Select the file to use as your ringtone for all calls. Items transferred to the Ringtones folder will appear under 'My Ringtones.'

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

 

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to the Ringtones folder on your device.
  2. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  3. Select the contact you want to edit.
  4. Tap Edit.
  5. Scroll down and tap the Ringtone drop-down menu.
  6. Select the file to use as your ringtone for this contact.
  7. Tap OK.
  8. Tap Save.
