Wi-Fi calling: Nokia Lumia 521

    Learn how to set up and use Wi-Fi calling and connection preference on the Nokia Lumia 521.

     

     

     

    Turn on & connect

    To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register a 911 address and turn on Wi-Fi to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

     

    1. Register your 911 address at My T-Mobile.
    2. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network.
      1. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
      2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
      3. Tap Wi-Fi.
      4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on and enable Wi-Fi.
    3. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
    4. Scroll to and tap Wi-Fi Calling.
    5. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling switch to turn on. When the Wi-Fi Calling feature is active, your phone displays the 'Wi-Fi Calling' text in your T-Mobile tile When you see the text, you are ready to make phone calls and send messages over the Wi-Fi network.

     

    Set connection preference

    1. From the Start screen, touch the screen and slide left.
    2. Scroll to and tap Wi-Fi Calling.
    3. Select one of the following options:
      • Wi-Fi Preferred: All calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, then calls are made over the cellular network.
      • Cellular Preferred: All calls are made over the cellular network. If the cellular network is not available, then calls are made over an available Wi-Fi network.
      • Wi-Fi Only: All calls are made over a Wi-Fi network. If there are no available Wi-Fi networks, phone calls will not connect.
