Share & stream media: Samsung Galaxy S III

Learn how to read NFC tags, share your phone's display, and exchange media with other NFC and DLNA-compatible devices using the Samsung Galaxy S III.

 

 

 

Read NFC tag

  1. Turn on NFC on your device.
  2. Place the rear of your phone against the rear of the other device or against the printed tag. Your device should vibrate or sound a confirmation depending on your settings.
  3. If necessary, follow any prompts (for example, if you are receiving a contact, you must select where to save the contact).

 

Turn on / off NFC

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.
  4. To turn on, tap the NFC Switch to On. The Switch moves right and turns green. Tap Agree.
  5. To turn off, tap the NFC Switch to Off. The Switch moves left and turns grey.  If necessary, tap the S Beam Switch to On or Off.

 

Lock

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Tap Nearby devices.
  5. Tap Upload from other devices.
  6. Tap one of the following desired options:
    • Always accept
    • Always ask
    • Always reject

 

Turn share on / off

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Tap Nearby devices.
  5. To turn on, tap File sharing to select the check box.
  6. To turn off, tap File sharing to clear the check box.
