Email accounts: Samsung Galaxy S III

Use these steps to add email accounts on the Samsung Galaxy S III.


On this page:




  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Add account.
  4. Tap Email.
  5. Enter your email address and password.
  6. Tap Manual setup.
  7. Tap one of the following options:
    • POP3 account
    • IMAP account
    • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
  8. Edit incoming email configuration settings, as necessary.
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Edit outgoing email configuration settings, as necessary.
  11. Tap Next.
  12. Set the email check frequency, retrieval size, and notification options, as desired.
  13. Tap Next.
  14. Enter an account name (optional).
  15. Enter the name you want to display on outgoing messages.
  16. Tap Done.


Add Gmail

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Gmail. If you have already logged in to a Gmail account and want to log into an additional account, tap the Menu key, tap Settings, and then tap Add account.
  3. Tap Existing. You can also tap New and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Google account.
  4. Tap the Email field to open the on-screen keyboard.
  5. Enter your email and password.
  6. Tap the Back key to close the on-screen keyboard, if necessary.
  7. Tap the Next arrow.
  8. Read the message and then tap OK.
  9. Read the 'Backup and restore' information and then tap the Next arrow.
  10. Tap Sync now or Sync settings, or else wait a few moments and your email will appear.



  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'Accounts,' tap the account type (for example, Google or Email).
  4. Tap your email address at the top of the screen.
  5. Tap Remove account.
  6. Tap Remove account again to confirm.
