Backup & restore: LG V20

    Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the LG V20.

     

     

     

    Back up apps

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the "General" tab, tap Backup & reset.
    3. Select the Back up my data check box.

     

    Back up contacts

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, tap Backup & reset.
    3. Tap LG Backup > Save & restore.
    4. Tap Back up data.
    5. Select from the following locations to save your data to:
      • SD card
      • Internal storage
    6. If prompted, sign into your LG Account to continue backup.
    7. Select Personal data.
    8. Deselect the other options.
    9. Expand the Personal data folder and ensure Contacts is selected.
    10. Tap Start to begin the backup. This may take several minutes.
    11. After the backup completes, tap Done.

     

    Back up contacts to SD card

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, tap Backup & reset.
    3. Tap LG Backup > Save & restore.
    4. Tap Back data and check that 'SD Card' is selected.
    5. Select the items you wish to backup.
    6. Tap Start to begin the backup. This may take several minutes.
    7. After the backup completes, tap Done.

     

    Back up media & pictures

     

    From phone

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, then tap Backup & reset.
    3. Tap LG Backup > Save & restore.
    4. Tap Restore from backup.
    5. Tap the LG backup file you wish to restore.
    6. Select Media data. Deselect the non-media options.
    7. Expand the Media data folder and make desired selections.
    8. Tap Start to begin the backup. This may take several minutes.
    9. When back up completes, tap Done.

     

    From computer - PC

    1. Connect your phone to a PC using the MicroUSB cable attached to your LG charger.
    2. If prompted, select Media sync (MTP).
    3. On the PC, open My computer.
    4. Right-click the backup file (ending with .sbf) and select Copy.
    5. Right-click location to save backup file to on computer.
    6. Paste the backup file to the PC.

     

    Restore apps

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, then tap Backup & reset.
    3. Tap LG Backup, then tap Save & restore.
    4. Tap Restore from backup.
    5. Locate and tap the contacts backup.
    6. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
    7. After the restore completes, tap Done.
    8. The phone reboots to complete the restore.

     

    Restore contacts

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, then tap Backup & reset.
    3. Tap LG Backup, then tap Save & restore.
    4. Tap Restore from backup.
    5. Locate and tap the SD card backup.
    6. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
    7. After the restore completes, tap Done.
    8. The phone reboots to complete the restore.

     

    Restore SD card contacts

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, then tap Backup & reset.
    3. Tap LG Backup.
    4. Tap Save & restore.
    5. Tap Restore from backup.
    6. Locate and tap the SD card backup.
    7. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
    8. After the restore completes, tap Done.
    9. The phone restarts to complete the restore.

     

    Restore media & pictures

     

    From phone

    1. From any home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the 'General' tab, then tap Backup & reset.
    3. Under LG Backup, then tap Save & restore.
    4. Tap Restore from backup.
    5. Locate and tap the media backup.
    6. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
    7. After the restore completes, tap RESTART.
    8. The phone reboots to complete the restore.

     

    From computer - PC

    1. Connect your phone to a PC using the MicroUSB cable attached to your LG charger.
    2. If prompted, select Media sync (MTP).
    3. On the PC, open My computer.
    4. Right-click the backup file (ending with .sbf) and select Copy.
    5. Right-click location to save backup file to on the phone folder on the PC
    6. Paste the backup file to the desired phone folder on the PC.
