Backup & restore: HTC One LTE

    Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the HTC One LTE.

     

     

     

    Back up apps

    1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Backup and reset.

    4. You must be logged in to a Google account to back up your apps.

    5. If necessary, perform these steps:

      1. Tap HTC account.
      2. Tap Add account.
      3. Follow the prompts to log in to or create a Google account.
      4. Select the Backup my data check box.
      5. Select the Backup account check box.

     

    Back up contacts

    1. If there are any contacts saved as Phone, they will first need to be copied to the HTC or Google account for them to be backed up:
      1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
      2. Tap People.
      3. Tap the Menu icon.
      4. Tap Manage contacts.
      5. Tap Copy contacts.
      6. On the Copy contacts from window, tap Phone.
      7. On the Copy contacts to window, tap Google or HTC.
      8. Tap OK to confirm copying.
      9. Tap OK once completed.
    2. Connect to Wi-Fi.
    3. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
    4. Tap Settings.
    5. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Backup and reset.
    6. Tap Backup account to select backup account:
      • HTC Account
      • Google Account
    7. Tap Automatic backup to backup contacts daily over Wi-Fi.
    8. Tap Back up now to back up phone contacts to the cloud

     

    Back up media & pictures

     

    From computer - PC

    1. Connect the included USB cord to the phone, then to your computer.

    2. On a Windows computer, an AutoPlay window appears.

    3. Double-click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer.

    4. On a Mac OS X computer, double-click the virtual drive icon that appears on the desktop.

    5. On the computer, double-click the desired folder to access your phone’s files.

    6. Drag and drop the file from the internal storage folder into a folder on your computer.

    7. On a Windows computer, when you are finished, click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray in the lower right-hand corner of your computer desktop.

    8. Click Eject.

    9. On a Mac OS X computer, when you are finished, drag and drop the virtual drive icon into Trash/Eject.

    10. Disconnect the USB cord from your computer and then from your phone.

     

    Restore apps

    1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.

    2. Tap Settings.

    3. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Accounts & sync.

    4. Tap the Menu key.

    5. Tap Sync all.

     

    Restore contacts

    1. Connect to Wi-Fi.

    2. From any Home screen, tap Apps.

    3. Tap Settings.

    4. Scroll to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Backup and reset.

    5. Tap Restore from HTC backup.

     

    Restore media & pictures

     

    From computer - PC

    1. Connect the included USB cord to the phone, then to your computer.

    2. On a Windows computer, an AutoPlay window appears.
