Keyboard: Google Nexus 9

Learn how to customize text entry and default keyboard settings on the Google Nexus 9.

 

 

 

Change default keyboard

  1. From any Home screen, tap the All Apps icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap System.
  3. Scroll to PERSONAL, and then tap Language & input.
  4. Tap Default.
  5. Tap Setup input methods.
  6. Choose default keyboard:
    • Google Keyboard
    • Google Korean keyboard
    • Google Pinyin
    • Google voice typing
    • iWinn IME
  7. Adjust the other settings as necessary.

 

Enter symbols & numbers

    1. From the alphabet keyboard, tap the 123? key.
    2. Tap the number and symbol keys as necessary.
    3. Tap the ABC key to return to the alphabet keyboard.

Text entry mode

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
    2. Tap System settings.
    3. Tap General.
    4. Scroll to PERSONAL, and then tap Language & input.
    5. Tap Default.
    6. Tap Setup input methods.
    7. Next to Google Keyboard, tap the Settings icon.
    8. Select, clear, or set the following options:
      • Auto-capitalization
      • Sound on keypress
      • Personal dictionary
      • Add-on dictionaries
      • Block offensive words
      • Enable gesture typing
      • Dynamic floating preview
      • Show gesture trail
      • Next word suggestions
      • Advanced settings
