Device resets: LG K10

Learn how to master reset the LG K10 using the menu or hardware keys.




Master reset from settings menu

  1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon at the top-right.
  2. Tap General > Backup & reset. (If using List view, scroll down to 'PERSONAL,' then tap Backup & reset.)
  3. Select or clear the following check boxes:
    • Back up my data
    • Automatic restore
  4. Tap Backup account and follow the steps to create Google backup account, if necessary.
  5. Tap Factory data reset.
  6. Review the warning message and select or clear Erase SD card.
  7. Tap Reset phone > Next.
  8. Tap Delete all.
  9. Tap OK.


Master reset with hardware keys

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.


  1. Back up data on the internal memory.
  2. Back up all data on the internal memory.
  3. Turn off the device.
  4. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
  5. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold theVolume down button.
  6. 'Factory data reset' appears.
  7. Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
  8. Press the Power button to confirm.
  9. Erase all user data and restore default settings' appears.
  10. Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
  11. Press the Power button to reset the device.


Soft reset with hardware keys

A soft reset is a simulated battery removal. This is used to power a device off when the screen is frozen or unresponsive and the device it has an internal battery that cannot be removed. It does not cause loss of personal data on the device.


From any screen, press and hold the Volume down key and Power button at the same time, for up to 45 seconds until the device resets.
