Voice commands: BlackBerry Classic

Use these steps to support voice commands on the BlackBerry Classic.

 

 

 

Open an app

  1. Press and hold the Mute key (between the volume keys).
  2. When the microphone appears, release the button and say Open [app name].

 

Voice dial a contact

  1. Press and hold the Mute key (between the volume keys).
  2. When the microphone appears, release the button and say Call [name] at [location] (for example, "at work" or "on mobile").

 

Write a text message (SMS) with voice

Using Voice Control

  1. Press and hold the Mute key (between the volume keys).
  2. When the microphone appears, release the button and say Text [name].
    • If necessary, tap the contact's number.
    • You can also say Text [phone number].
  3. Tap the microphone icon to speak your text message.
  4. Say Send when prompted.

 

Using Text Messages

  1. From the home screen, swipe right to the BlackBerry Hub.
  2. Tap Compose > Text Message.
  3. Enter the recipient's phone number or tap the + icon to select a contact.
  4. Tap the Enter a message field, the press and hold the 0 key.
  5. Speak the desired text message.
  6. Tap the Send icon (envelope).
