Backlight & display: BlackBerry Classic

Learn how to customize the display and adjust the backlight on the BlackBerry Classic.

 

 

 

Backlight: Change brightness

  1. From any Home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap Settings > Display.
  3. Touch the Brightness slider and drag it left or right.

 

Backlight: Timeout

  1. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and drag it down.
  2. Tap Settings > Display.
  3. Tap Screen Lock Timeout and then tap the desired setting.

 

Status Lights

  1. From any Home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap Settings > Notifications.
  3. Tap the LED Switch to turn all LED notifications on or off.
  4. Under 'Notifications / Alerts,' tap the desired notification or alert category (for example, Text Messages).
  5. Tap the LED Switch to turn each desired notification category on or off.

 

Wallpaper: Home screen

  1. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and drag it down.
  2. Tap Settings > Display.
  3. Next to 'Wallpaper,' tap Select.
  4. Choose one of the following options for setting a wallpaper:
    • Set a pre-installed wallpaper
      • Tap the desired pre-installed wallpaper thumbnail on the screen, then select Home Screen.
    • Take a new picture and set it as your wallpaper
      1. Tap the Camera icon and then frame your subject.
      2. Tap the screen to take a picture and simultaneously set it as your wallpaper, then select Home Screen.
    • Set a picture file as your wallpaper
      1. Tap the Folder icon and then navigate through your files to select one of your pictures as a wallpaper.
      2. Tap the desired picture, then select Home Screen.
        • Tap the Menu icon at bottom-left to navigate to your Device (internal memory) or media card (SD card).

 

Wallpaper: Lock screen

  1. From any Home screen, touch the Status bar and drag it down.
  2. Tap Settings > Display.
  3. Next to 'Wallpaper,' tap Select.
  4. Choose one of the following options for setting a wallpaper:
    • Set a pre-installed wallpaper
      • Tap the desired pre-installed wallpaper thumbnail on the screen, then select Lock Screen.
    • Take a new picture and set it as your wallpaper
      1. Tap the Camera icon and then frame your subject.
      2. Tap the screen to take a picture and simultaneously set it as your wallpaper, then select Lock Screen.
    • Set a picture file as your wallpaper
      1. Tap the Folder icon and then navigate through your files to select one of your pictures as a wallpaper.
      2. Tap the desired picture, then select Lock Screen.
