Notifications & ringtones: Samsung Galaxy On5

Learn how to set alerts, ringtones, and notifications on the Samsung Galaxy On5.

 

 

 

Emergency alerts

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the More in the top right.
  3. Tap Settings from the drop-down menu.
  4. Scroll to and tap Emergency alerts.
  5. Tap Emergency alerts to set which alert types to receive.
  6. Select or clear the check boxes for:
    • Presidential alerts
    • Imminent extreme alert
    • Imminent severe alert
    • AMBER alerts

 

Notifications

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Select the app that you want to receive notifications from (on / off).

 

Advanced options

  1. Tap Advanced.
  2. Tap on an individual app.
  3. Select from the following:
    • Allow notifications (on / off)
    • Set as priority (on / off)
    • Previews in pop-ups (on / off)
    • Hide on lock screen (on / off)
    • Hide content on lock screen (on / off)

 

Ringtones

 

Ringtone for all calls

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sounds and vibration.
  4. Tap Notification sound.
  5. Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone.
  6. Tap the back arrow in the upper left corner, the selection is automatically saved.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the desired contact.
  3. Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
  4. Tap More.
  5. Tap Ringtone.
  6. Tap the desired ringtone to assign it to the contact and then tap OK.
  7. Tap the back arrow in the upper left corner, the selection is automatically saved.
