Learn how to use the task manager and free up memory on the Kyocera Hydro LIFE.

 

 

 

Manage memory

 

Restart device regularly

  1. Restart your phone at least once a day.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. Tap Restart.


Remove widgets from home screens

  1. From the desired home screen, touch and hold the widget you wish to remove.
  2. Animated widgets and widgets that update information use the most memory.
  3. Drag the widget to the X Remove section and release.

Replace a live wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold the home screen with the live wallpaper.
  2. Tap Wallpapers.
  3. Tap Gallery, Graphics, or Wallpapers.
  4. Follow the prompts to set a new wallpaper to replace the current live wallpaper. 
       

Remove unused home screens

  1. Tap the Home key.
  2. A list of home screens appears in thumbnail format.
  3. Touch and hold the thumbnail of the home screen.
  4. Drag the home screen to the X Remove section and release.
  5. Tap Done.


Research and monitor new apps

  1. Read Play Store app reviews before installing.
  2. Read customer reviews before downloading an app.
  3. If your device has problems after installing an app, consider uninstalling them.

Keep apps updated

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Play Store.
  3. Tap Menu > My Apps.
  4. To keep your apps automatically updated:
    1. Tap Menu > Settings.
    2. Select the Auto-update apps check box.
    3. Tap Update [xx] to update all apps.
    4. For individual apps, tap the app and tap Update.
  5. Uninstall third-party applications.
  6. Clear application cache and data.
  7. Never install a third-party task manager or battery manager.

 

Task manager

A task manager can view running apps and close them.

 

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down to 'DEVICE,' then tap Apps.
  4. Swipe left to the RUNNING screen.
  5. Touch and hold the desired app.
  6. Tap Stop, then tap OK

 

View free memory

  1. From the home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Apps.
  2. Swipe left to the RUNNING screen.
  3. View the RAM free value in the lower-right corner.
