Voice commands: Apple iPhone 6s

Use these steps to support voice commands on the Apple iPhone 6s.

 

 

 

Enable voice commands ([insert specific service name, if applicable. Such as Siri.])

  1. From the main Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap General > Siri.
  3. Tap the slider to enable Siri.

 

Open an app

  1. Press and hold the Home key.
  2. Speak the command: Open [App Name].

 

Voice dial a contact

  1. Press and hold the Home key.
  2. Speak one of the following phrases:
    • Call Jim
    • Call 805 637 7243
    • Call my sister
      If you have not set a contacts as specific personal relations, Siri will prompt you to select the desired contact. This will be stored, and next time you say, "Call my sister" the device will call the contact you designated.

 

Write a text message (SMS) with voice

  1. Press and hold the Home key.
  2. Speak a command, such as:
    • Text Joe saying Hello.
    • Send a message to Bob on his mobile telling him I'm on my way.
    • Tell my wife I love her.
