Device resets: Nokia Lumia 635

Learn how to master reset the Nokia Lumia 635 using the menu or hardware keys.

 

 

 

Master reset from settings menu

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

  1. Back up data on the internal memory.
  2. Swipe left on the start screen.
  3. Tap settings.
  4. Tap about.
  5. Tap reset your phone.
  6. Read the warning, then tap yes.
  7. Tap yes to confirm.

 

Master reset with hardware keys

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

 

  1. Back up data on the internal memory.
  2. Turn off the phone.
  3. Press and hold the Volume Down key, followed by the Power key.
  4. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume Down key.
  6. When an exclamation mark icon appears, release the Volume Down key.
  7. Press the Volume Up key.
  8. Press the Volume Down key.
  9. Press the Power key.
  10. Press the Volume Down key.
  11. Wait for the phone to reset.
