Data usage: Samsung Galaxy S 6

Use these steps to support data usage on the Samsung Galaxy S 6.

 

 

 

Data usage indicator

 

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage.
  4. Follow the appropriate set of steps below.

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Data usage.
  5. Follow the appropriate set of steps below.

 

Turn on a data usage limit

 

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. Select the Set mobile data limit slider.
  2. Tap OK.
  3. A new horizontal orange bar appears in the graph.
  4. Touch and drag the orange bar up or down to the desired data amount.
  5. When you reach this data amount, your data connection is automatically disabled.

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. Tap Mobile data usage.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Tap Data limit to move the slider to ON.
  4. Tap Data limit and adjust the number, then tap SET.
  5. When you reach this data amount, your data connection is automatically disabled.

 

Change the data usage limit

  1. Follow the above steps to access the data limit screen.
  2. If you exceed this setting, your data connection is automatically disabled.
  3. To turn off a data usage limit, move the Set mobile data limit or Data limit slider to OFF.

 

View data usage by app

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage.
  4. If necessary, tap the Data usage cycle field to select the time period to be studied for the data usage.
  5. Below the graph, the dates to be studied will be displayed.
  6. Swipe up and view the data usage for applications (largest to smallest)

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Data usage.
  5. If necessary, tap the Data usage cycle field to select the time period to be studied for the data usage.
  6. Below the graph, the dates to be studied will be displayed.
  7. Swipe up and view the data usage for applications (largest to smallest)
