Smartphone Mobile Hotspot: Samsung Galaxy S 6

Set up

 

Android Lollipop

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot.
  2. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Under 'Connections,' tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Tap Mobile HotSpot.
  6. Tap the Mobile HotSpot slider to ON.
  7. If prompted, create a Wi-Fi password:
    1. Tap Password.
    2. Enter the password (must be at least eight characters).
    3. Tap Save.
  8. Tap MORE.
  9. Tap Allowed devices to adjust the settings to ADD or DELETE.
  10. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  11. Tap to adjust the following settings:
    • Network SSID
    • Broadcast network name (SSID) (on/off)
    • Security
    • Password
  12. When finished, tap SAVE.

 

Android Marshmallow

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot.
  2. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Tap Mobile HotSpot.
  6. Tap the Mobile HotSpot slider to ON.
  7. If prompted, create a Wi-Fi password:
    1. Tap Password.
    2. Enter the password (must be at least eight characters).
    3. Tap Save.
  8. Tap MORE.
  9. Tap Allowed devices to adjust the settings to ADD or DELETE.
  10. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  11. Tap to adjust the following settings:
    • Network SSID
    • Broadcast network name (SSID) (on/off)
    • Security
    • Password
    • Show password
    • Show advanced options
      • Broadcast channel
        • 2.4 GHz
        • 5 GHz
        • Auto
          • Select from 1 to 11
      • Maximum connections
        • Select from 1 to 8
      • Timeout settings
        • Never timeout
        • 5 minutes
        • 10 minutes
        • 20 minutes
        • 30 minutes
        • 60 minutes
  12. When finished, tap SAVE.

 

Turn on / off
