Wi-Fi calling: Samsung Galaxy S 6

Learn how to set up and use Wi-Fi calling and set connection preferences on the Samsung Galaxy S 6.

 

 

 

Turn on & connect

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register an E911 address and turn on Wi-Fi to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

 

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. Register your E911 address at My T-Mobile.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
  3. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. If necessary, slide the Wi-Fi Switch right to the ON position.
  6. Tap More connection settings.
  7. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  8. Slide the Wi-Fi Switch right to the ON position.
  9. Select the Wi-Fi preferred or Never use Cellular Network to turn on Wi-Fi calling.

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. If necessary, slide the Wi-Fi Switch right to the ON position.
  5. Tap More connection settings.
  6. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  7. Slide the Wi-Fi Switch right to the ON position.
  8. Select the Wi-Fi preferred or Never use Cellular Network to turn on Wi-Fi calling.

 

Set connection preference

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. If necessary, slide the Wi-Fi Switch right to the ON position.
  5. Tap More connection settings.
  6. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  7. Select one of the these options:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred
    • Cellular Network Preferred
    • Never use Cellular Network

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. If necessary, slide the Wi-Fi Switch right to the ON position.
  5. Tap More connection settings.
  6. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  7. Select one of the these options:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred
    • Cellular Network Preferred
    • Never use Cellular Network
