Backup & restore: Samsung Galaxy S 6 edge

Back up apps

 

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Backup & reset.
  4. Check Back up my data to back up any account data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers.
  5. Check Automatic restore to restore backed up settings and data when re-installing applications

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Cloud and accounts.
  4. Tap Backup & reset.
  5. Check Back up my data to back up any account data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers.
  6. Check Automatic restore to restore backed up settings and data when re-installing applications.

 

Back up contacts

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap MORE.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Move device contacts to.
  5. Return to the Home screen, then tap Apps.
  6. Tap Settings.
  7. Tap Accounts.
  8. Tap desired account.
  9. Tap MORE.
  10. Tap Sync now.

 

Back up media & pictures

 

From computer - PC

  1. Download and install Samsung Smart Switch compatible with your computer from http://www.samsung.com/us/support/smart-switch-support/#!/.
  2. Connect the cable to a compatible USB port on your computer.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to your mobile device.
  4. Allow computer to install required drivers.
  5. Open Smart Switch on your computer, and allow it to make the connection.
  6. If necessary, follow these steps:
    1. Touch the Status bar and drag it down.
    2. Tap Connected as a media device.
    3. Select the Media device (MTP) check box.
  7. On the computer, click Open device to view files.
  8. Navigate to desired files. The Card icon is the SD card. The Phone icon is the internal storage.
    • Drag and drop files into desired phone folder(s).
    • When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

     

    From computer - Mac

    1. Download and install Samsung Smart Switch compatible with your computer from http://www.samsung.com/us/support/smart-switch-support/#!/.
    2. Connect the cable to a compatible USB port on your computer.
    3. Connect the other end of the cable to your mobile device.
    4. Allow computer to install required drivers.
    5. Open Smart Switch on your computer, and allow it to make the connection.
    6. If necessary. follow these steps:
      1. Touch the Status bar and drag it down.
      2. Tap Connected as a media device.
      3. Select the Media device check box.
    7. If necessary, click the Restore tab.
    8. Select the Music and Photo check boxes. Select other check boxes as desired, or choose Select all items.
    9. Click Restore. Follow any additional prompts.
    10. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

    Restore media & pictures
