Network & APN: Samsung Gear S2

Use these steps to support network settings on the Samsung Gear S2.

 

 

 

APN & data settings

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Access Point Names.
  6. If available, tap Internet connection/T-Mobile US LTE APN.
  7. To reset APN settings, tap Reset to default.
  8. Verify and update APN settings:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • Authentication type: None
  9. Tap Menu.
  10. Tap Save.
  11. Tap desired APN profile.

 

Manual network selection

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network operators.
  6. Tap Search networks.
  7. Tap desired network.

 

Switch 2G / 4G

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Network mode.
  6. Tap desired network mode:
    • WCDMA/GSM
    • WCDMA only
    • GSM only

 

Turn on / off airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows app and menu use, but prevents voice or Internet use.

 

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Airplane Mode to turn On or Off.

 

Turn on / off data roaming

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Data roaming to On or Off.

 

Turn on / off mobile data

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Mobile networks.
  5. Tap Mobile data to On or Off.
