Share & stream media: LG G4

Learn how to read NFC tags, share your phone's display, and exchange media with other NFC and DLNA-compatible devices using the LG G4.

 

 

 

Mirror screen on car display

MirrorLink mirrors your phone on your car's display. Your car's system must support LG G4 to use this feature.

 

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Networks tab.
  4. Tap Share & connect > Media server.
  5. Select the Content sharing check box.
  6. Tap YES.

 

Mirror screen on other device

Miracast mirrors your phone's display on other compatible devices.

 

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Share & connect > Miracast.
  4. Tap the Miracast switch to turn on the feature.
  5. Turn on the Miracast feature on your TV or connect to the LG Miracast dongle.

 

Manage shared content

Manage your shared content and permissions of nearby devices.

 

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Share & connect > Media server.
  4. Select the Content sharing check box and then tap Yes.

Android Beam and SmartShare Beam read tags and exchange content on your phone with other compatible devices or tags.

Android Beam

When this feature is turned on, you can beam app content to another NFC capable device by holding the devices close together.

 

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Share & connect > Android Beam.
  4. Tap the Android Beam switch to turn on the feature.

SmartShare Beam

SmartShare Beam allows you to receive multimedia content from LG phones or tablets.

 

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps
  3. Settings > Share & connect > SmartShare Beam.
  4. Tap the SmartShare Beam switch to turn on the feature.
  5. Select an option, then follow the on-screen prompts:
    • Tap to rename phone
    • Storage
    • File transfer history
    • Help

 

Read NFC tag

Your phone can read the NFC tag information from another NFC device or a printed tag.

 

    1. On your device, turn on NFC.
    2. Place the back of your phone against the back of the other device, or against the printed tag. Your device should vibrate or sound a confirmation, depending on your settings.
    3. If necessary, follow any prompts (for example, if you are receiving a contact, you must select where to save the contact).

 

Turn on / off NFC

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap the NFC slider to turn it on or off.
