Tethering: Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Learn how to share your mobile data connection over a USB cable using the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

 

 

 

Computer drivers

  1. On your computer, open the webpage http://samsung.com/kies.
  2. Click Download for Windows.
  3. Click DOWNLOAD KIES 3.
  4. Follow the prompts to download and install the drivers.
  5. When prompted, connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.
  6. For best results, use the charging cable that comes with the device.
  7. Follow any additional prompts to launch the KIES application.
  8. Once launched, the KIES dashboard displays three tabs:
    • Basic information
    • Sync
    • Backup/Restore

 

USB tethering

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.
  4. Scroll to 'NETWORK CONNECTIONS,' then tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Connect your phone to your computer via USB cable. For best results, use the cable that came with the phone.
  6. To share your connection, select the USB tethering check box.
  7. Tap OK if you would like to learn more about tethering.
  8. Once connected, Tethered appears under 'USB tethering' and the check box is selected.
