Manage shared content

Manage your shared content and permissions of nearby devices. To read the NFC tag information from another NFC device or a printed tag, follow these steps:

 

  1. Turn on NFC on your device.
  2. Place the rear of your phone against the rear of the other device or against the printed tag. Your device should vibrate or sound a confirmation depending on your settings.
  3. If necessary, follow any prompts (for example, if you are receiving a contact, you must select where to save the contact)

 

Turn share on / off

NFC devices

Android Beam, S Beam, and Tap and pay read tags and exchange content on your phone with other compatible devices or tags.

 

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to 'CONNECT AND SHARE' and then tap NFC.
  5. To turn on, move the NFC slider right to the ON or OFF position.
  6. Turning on or off NFC enables or disables the following:
    • Android Beam
    • S Beam
    • Tap and pay

 

DLNA-compatible devices

  1. Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to 'CONNECT AND SHARE' and then tap Nearby devices.
  5. Move the Nearby Devices slider right to the ON position or left to the OFF position.
  6. Select the following under Advanced Settings:
    • Content to share
      • Videos
      • Photos
      • Music
    • Allowed devices
      • Add up to 10 devices to this list to share files with.
      • Tap Allowed devices to display a list of allowed devices.
    • Denied devices
      • Add devices to this list to block them from sharing files with your device.
      • Tap 'Not-allowed devices' to display a list of Not-allowed devices
    • Download to
      • Device
      • SD card
    • Receive files from other devices
      • Always accept
      • Always ask
      • Always reject
