Backlight & display: Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Learn how to customize the display and adjust the backlight on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

 

 

 

Backlight: Change brightness

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'SOUND AND DISPLAY,' then tap Display.
  4. Tap Brightness.
  5. If necessary, tap Automatic brightness to clear the check box and turn it off.
  6. Touch and drag the Brightness level slider to the desired setting.
  7. Tap OK.

 

Backlight: Timeout

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'SOUND AND DISPLAY,' then tap Display.
  4. Tap Screen timeout.
  5. Select the desired time setting:
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 2 minutes
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes

 

Widget or Shortcut: Add

  1. Navigate to the desired Home screen where the widget or shortcut will be added.
  2. Touch and hold on a vacant area on the screen that is large enough to hold the widget or shortcut.
  3. Tap Widgets.
  4. Touch and hold on the desired app or widget.
  5. Drag your finger to move the item to the desired location on the Home screen. Release your finger.

 

Widget or Shortcut: Delete

  1. Navigate to the Home screen containing the widget or shortcut.
  2. Touch and hold on the widget or shortcut.
  3. Drag your finger to move the item over Remove.
  4. Release your finger.

 

Status Lights

Wallpaper: Home screen

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'SOUND AND DISPLAY,' then tap Wallpaper.
  4. Tap Home screen.
  5. Select an image from the bottom of the screen or tap From gallery.
  6. Tap the image to use for the new Home screen wallpaper.
  7. Tap Set as wallpaper.

 

Wallpaper: Lock screen

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to 'SOUND AND DISPLAY,' then tap Wallpaper.
  4. Tap Lock screen.
  5. Select an image from the bottom of the screen or tap one of the following:
    • From gallery
    • Live weather
    • My interests
  6. Tap the image to use for the new Lock screen wallpaper.
  7. Tap Set as wallpaper.
