Wi-Fi calling: Samsung Galaxy Avant

Learn how to set up and use Wi-Fi calling and connection preference on the Samsung Galaxy Avant.

 

 

 

Turn on & connect

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register an E911 address and turn on Wi-Fi to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

 

  1. Register your E911 address at My T-Mobile.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network.
    1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Under QUICK SETTINGS, tap Wi-Fi.
    4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.
    5. Tap the Wi-Fi network to connect to.
    6. If prompted, enter the password.
    7. Tap Connect.
  3. Turn on Wi-Fi Calling:
    1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Under NETWORK CONNECTIONS, tap More networks.
    4. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling switch to ON.
    5. When Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Calling are both enabled, you are ready to use Wi-Fi Calling.

 

Set connection preference

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under NETWORK CONNECTIONS, tap More networks.
  4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  6. Tap Connection Preferences and select a preference:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred
    • Cellular Network Preferred
    • Never use Cellular Network
