Learn how to view free space and free up storage on the Samsung Galaxy Avant.

 

 

 

Adjust storage settings

  1. From any home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the Menu > Settings.
  3. Tap Delete old messages.
  4. Slide the switch to the ON position.
  5. Tap Text message limit.
  6. Set a limit.
  7. Tap OK.
  8. Tap Multimedia message limit.
  9. Set a limit.
  10. Tap OK.

 

Clear storage regularly

  1. Clear storage at least once per week.
  2. Check the available internal device storage (see 'View free storage space' below).
  3. It must be over 150 MB for your device.
  4. The Android system cannot work properly if the internal device storage is below 150 MB.
  5. If under 150 MB, use these tips to clear more storage:
    • Delete unnecessary text messages (SMS) and picture messages (MMS).
    • Transfer pictures and media to a computer, and remove it from the phone memory.
    • Clear the browser cache, cookies, or history.
    • Clear Facebook app cache.
    • Manage applications. See section below.
    • Delete the call logs.

 

Manage applications

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under APPLICATIONS, tap Application manager.
  4. Tap the application to uninstall.
  5. Tap Uninstall.
  6. Tap OK.

 

Change Gmail synchronization setting to every three days

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Gmail.
  3. Tap Menu > Settings.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap your email address.
  6. Tap Days of mail to sync.
  7. Select 3, then tap OK.

 

View free storage space

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under SYSTEMS, tap Storage.
  4. Under DEVICE MEMORY, view the Available space value
