Advanced messaging: Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Use these steps to set up and use SMS / MMS messages with advanced messaging on the  Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

 

 

 

Change chat settings

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the MORE icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Chat settings.
  5. Select the following to change the settings:
    • Send read receipt (ON/OFF)
    • Multimedia limit
      • Automatically accept all
      • Automatically accept files less than 3000 MB in size
    • Roaming auto download (ON/OFF)
    • Image size
    • Best available
      • Original
      • Large (50%)
      • Medium (20%)
      • Small (10%)
    • Share typing indications (ON/OFF)

 

Turn advanced messaging on / off

To use advanced messaging, participants must have VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling enabled. To turn advanced messaging on or off, follow these steps.

 

Turn ON/OFF VoLTE Data network:

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. Tap the MORE icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Voice over LTE settings.
  5. Select one of the following:
    • Turn on: Use VoLTE when available
    • Turn off: Do not use VoLTE

 

Turn ON/OFF Wi-Fi Calling:

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'Connections,' tap More connection settings.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  5. Tap the Wi-Fi switch ON/OFF. The Switch moves right and turns green when on. It moves left and turns grey when off.
  6. If necessary, tap Connection Preferences.
  7. Select one of the following connection preferences:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred
    • Cellular Network Preferred
    • Never use Cellular Network
