Wipe cache partition: Samsung Galaxy Tab S

Learn how to wipe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S using the hardware keys. If the tablet is not working correctly, you may need to master reset it and also clear the cache partition. These two resets clear different parts of the tablet storage. Unlike a master reset, wiping the cache partition does not delete your personal data.


  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. Tap Power off and then tap OK.
  3. Press and hold the Power, Home, and Up Volume keys at the same time.
  4. Release all of the keys when the Android image appears.
  5. Press the Volume key to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press the Power key.
  7. After the wipe is complete, press the Volume key to move the cursor to Reboot system now.
  8. Press the Power key.
  9. The device shuts down, restarts, and returns to the startup menu.
