Keyboard: BlackBerry PRIV

Learn how to customize text entry and default keyboard settings on the BlackBerry PRIV.

 

 

 

Change default keyboard

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Language & input > Current keyboard.
  2. Tap the desired keyboard to select.
  3. Tap Choose keyboards to enable or disable keyboards.

 

Enter symbols & numbers

 

BlackBerry on-screen keyboard

  1. When entering text, tap ?123 at the bottom left.

  2. To return to letters, tap ABC.

 

BlackBerry physical keyboard

There are two ways to enter numbers and symbols:

  • Press the Alt key, then press the desired number or symbol. The keyboard immediately switches back to letters.

  • Press and hold the Alt key, then press the desired number or symbol. The keyboard will continue to enter numbers and symbols until you release the Alt key.

 

Text entry mode

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Language & input > BlackBerry Keyboard Settings.

  2. Tap Prediction and correction to adjust the following options:

    • Auto correction

    • Auto capitalization

    • Double-tap space bar for period

    • Show predictions

    • Prefer on key predictions

    • Predict Emojis

    • Personalized suggestions

    • Next word suggestions

 

Turn on / off haptic (vibration) feedback

 

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Language & input > BlackBerry Keyboard Settings.

  2. Tap Key press feedback to adjust the following options:

    • Vibrate

    • Vibrate duration

    • Sound

    • Sound volume

    • Key pop-up

    • Pop-up dismiss delay
