Backup & restore: BlackBerry PRIV

Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the BlackBerry PRIV.

 

 

 

Back up apps

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Tap Backup & reset.

  4. You must be logged in to a Google account to back up your apps. If necessary, follow these steps:If necessary, tap Backup my data to turn the switch on.

    1. Tap Backup account.
    2. Tap Add account.
    3. Follow the prompts to log in to or to create a Google account.
  5. If necessary, tap Backup account to turn the switch on.

 

Back up contacts

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.

  2. Tap Contacts.

  3. Tap the Menu icon with three lines at the top left side and look at the Accounts section.

  4. Contacts listed under email address can be backed up online with the following steps:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings,
    3. Tap Accounts.
    4. Select the desired account, tap the Menu button with three dots, and tap Sync now.
  5. Contacts listed under Local contacts must be backed up to the SIM or SD card.

 

Back up contacts to SD card

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the Menu icon with the three dots at the top right side.
  4. Tap Import/export.
  5. Tap Export to storage.
  6. Tap OK.

 

Back up media & pictures

  1. Using the USB cable that came with your device, connect your device to your computer.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen to view the USB notification.
    • If connected as a media device, move to step 3.
    • If connected as anything else, tap the notification and place a check next to Media device (MTP).
  3. The device automatically mounts two removable disks:
    • The Internal Storage drive is for device memory.
    • The SD card is your memory card.
  4. Drag and drop files to/from the removable disks as needed.

 

Restore apps

This is done automatically upon the next time you sign into your Google account.

 

Restore contacts

This is done automatically upon the next time you sign into your Google account.

 

Restore media & pictures
