Notifications & ringtones: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Learn how to set alerts, ringtones, and notifications on the [Device Name].

 

 

 

Emergency alerts

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the top right.
  3. Tap Settings from the drop-down menu.
  4. Scroll to and tap Emergency alerts.
  5. Tap Emergency alerts to set which alert types to receive.
  6. Select or clear the check boxes for:
    • Imminent extreme alert
    • Imminent severe alert
    • AMBER alerts

 

Incoming email

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Email.
  3. Tap the Menu key in the top right of the screen.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Manage accounts.
  6. Tap your email address until it advances to the next screen,
  7. Scroll to 'NOTIFICATION SETTINGS'.
  8. Tap Email notifications to select or clear the check box and turn on/off email notifications.
  9. Tap Notification sound to select or change the notification sound.
  10. Tap Vibrate to select or clear the check box and turn on or turn off vibrate notification.

 

Ringtones

Ringtone for all calls

Android 4.4 KitKat

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Sound.
  4. Under 'RINGTONES AND NOTIFICATIONS,' tapRingtones.
  5. Tap the desired ringtone.
  6. Tap OK.

 

Android 5.0 Lollipop

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'Sound and display,' tap Sounds and notifications.
  4. Tap Ringtones.
  5. Tap the desired ringtones sound.
  6. Tap OK.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the desired contact.
  3. Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
  4. Tap Ringtone.
  5. Tap the desired ringtone to assign it to the contact and then tap OK.
  6. Tap Save.
