Manage messages: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Learn how to block, delete and save SMS / MMS messages on the Samsung Galaxy S 5.

 

 

 

Block messages or spam

 

From settings

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Spam filter to select the check box.
  5. Tap Add to spam numbers.
  6. Tap the + plus sign.
  7. Manually enter number or choose from Contacts.
  8. When finished, tap Save.

 

From the number

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Touch the conversation thread from the number you want to block.
  3. Tap the Menu icon.
  4. Tap Add to spam numbers.
  5. Tap OK.

 

Unblock messages

 

From settings

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the Menu key in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Spam filter to select the check box.
  5. Tap Remove from spam numbers.
  6. Touch and hold on the desired number you wish to unblock.
  7. Tap Delete.
  8. Tap OK.

 

From the number

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Touch the conversation thread from the number you want to unblock.
  3. Tap the Menu icon.
  4. Tap Remove from spam numbers.
  5. Tap OK.

 

Delete picture messages (MMS)

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Touch and hold the message you wish to delete.
  3. When the 'Message options' box appears, tap Delete.
  4. Tap OK.

 

Delete text messages (SMS)

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Touch and hold the message you wish to delete.
  3. When the 'Message options' box appears, tap Delete.
  4. Tap OK.

 

Save pictures received in a message (MMS)

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the conversation thread containing the message you want to save.
  3. Touch and hold the picture you want to save.
  4. Tap Save attachment.
  5. Tap the file name to select the the check box.
  6. Tap Save.
  7. The image is now stored in your Gallery in the 'download' folder.

 

SMS service center number

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the Menu key in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Text messages.
  5. View the number under Message center.
