Manage calls: Samsung Galaxy S 5

Learn how to block calls, set or cancel call forwarding, and manage caller ID and the call log on the Samsung Galaxy S 5.

 

 

 

Block calls

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. While on the Keypad or Logs screen, tap the Menu icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Call.
  5. Tap Call rejection.
  6. Tap Auto reject list.
  7. Tap Create.
  8. Tap the Contacts icon.
  9. To enter the number manually:
    1. Enter the number.
    2. If desired, choose a Match criteria option:
      • Exactly the same as (default)
      • Starts with
      • Ends with
      • Includes
  10. To search for the number:
    1. Tap the Contacts icon.
    2. Tap Logs or Contacts.
    3. Tap the number to reject or contact to add to the reject list.
  11. To block unknown callers, tap Unknown.

 

Unblock calls

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. While on the Keypad or Logs screen, tap the Menu icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Call.
  5. Tap Call rejection.
  6. Tap Auto reject list.
  7. To allow calls but leave number on the list, clear the check box next to the number.
  8. To allow calls and remove number from the list:
    1. Tap the Trash can icon.
    2. Select the check box next to the number.
    3. Tap Done.

 

Call forwarding unconditional

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the device to ring.

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. While on the Keypad or Logs screen, tap the Menu icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Call.
  5. Tap either:
    • Additional settings
    • More settings
  6. Tap Call forwarding.
  7. Tap Always forward.
  8. Tap Turn on.

 

Call forwarding conditional

Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer them (no reply, busy, unavailable).

 

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. While on the Keypad or Logs screen, tap the Menu icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Call.
  5. Tap either:
    • Additional settings
    • More settings
  6. Tap Call forwarding.
  7. Tap the desired option:
    • Forward when busy
    • Forward when unanswered
    • Forward when unreachable
  8. Enter the phone number to forward your calls to.
  9. Tap Update.

 

Cancel call forwarding

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. While on the Keypad or Logs screen, tap the Menuicon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Call.
  5. Tap either:
    • Additional settings
    • More settings
  6. Tap Call forwarding.
  7. Tap Always forward.
  8. Tap Turn off.

 

Caller ID settings

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'APPLICATIONS', tap Call.
  4. Tap More settings.
  5. Tap Caller ID and select one of the following options:  
    • Network default
    • Hide number
    • Show number

 

Reset call log

  1. From any Home screen, tap the green Phone icon.
  2. Tap the Logs tab.
  3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Delete.
  4. Tap Select all.
  5. Tap Done.
  6. Tap OK.

 

View call log

  1. From any Home screen, tap the green Phone icon.
  2. Tap the Logs tab to view the call logs.
  3. Tap any call listed to see more details about that number.
