Notifications & ringtones: Sony Xperia Z3

Learn how to set alerts, ringtones, and notifications on the Sony Xperia Z3.

 

 

 

Emergency alerts

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Scroll to and tap Messages.
  3. Tap the Menu icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap Emergency alerts.
  6. Select or clear check boxes for the following options:   
    • Extreme alerts
    • Severe alerts
    • AMBER alerts

Note: Presidential alerts cannot be disabled.

 

Incoming email

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Select one of the following:    
    • Email
    • Gmail
  3. Tap the Email account name in the upper-left corner.
  4. Scroll and tap Settings.
  5. Select the account name you want to edit.
  6. Choose one of the following options:   
    • In the Email application            
      1. Scroll down to 'NOTIFICATION SETTINGS.'
      2. Select or clear the Email notifications check box.
    • In the Gmail application            
      • Select or clear the Notifications check box.
      • Tap Inbox sound & vibrate to change the ringtones.

 

Ringtones

Ringtone for all calls

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to the Music folder on your device.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  3. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  4. Scroll to 'DEVICE,' and then tap Sound.
  5. Under 'RINGTONE & VIBRATION,' tap Phone ringtone.
  6. Tap the Music icon in the upper-right corner.
  7. Navigate to and select the file you want to use.
  8. Tap Done.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

 

  1. Transfer the music, song, or sound file to the Music folder on your device.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
  3. Tap the Contacts tab in the upper-left corner.
  4. Select the contact you want to edit.
  5. Tap the Edit contact icon in the upper-right area of the screen.
  6. Scroll down to and tap the Ringtone drop-down menu.
  7. Tap the Music icon in the upper-right corner.
  8. Navigate to and select the file you want to use.
  9. Tap Done.
