Network, APN & VoLTE: LG G Stylo

Use these steps to support network settings on the LG G Stylo.

 

 

 

APN & data settings

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  • Under WIRELESS NETWORKS, tap More.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.
  • If available, tap the T-Mobile US APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap the Menu key, and then tap New APN.
    Note:
    A separate APN must be added manually for the Reset to default option to appear.
  • Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
    • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Proxy: <Not set>
    • Port: <Not set>
    • Username: <Not set>
    • Password: <Not set>
    • Server: <Not set>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS proxy: <Not set>
    • MMS port: <Not set>
    • MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
    • MCC: 310
    • MNC: 260
    • Authentication type: <Not set>
    • APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
    • APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    • Enable/disable APN: <grayed out unless there are multiple APN's>
    • Bearer: Unspecified
  • Tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Save.
  • Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.

 

Manual network selection

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Under WIRELESS NETWORKS, tap More.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap Network operators.
  7. Tap Search networks.
  8. The phone searches for networks. This takes several minutes.
  9. Tap to select the desired network. The phone registers you on that network.

 

Switch 2G / 4G

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Under WIRELESS NETWORKS, tap More.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap Network mode.
  7. Tap one of the following desired band settings:
    • GSM / WCDMA / LTE (auto connect) (LTE setting)
    • GSM / WCDMA (auto connect)
    • WCDMA only
    • GSM only (2G only setting)

 

Turn on / off airplane mode

Airplane mode turns off wireless connections. This allows app and menu use, but prevents voice or Internet use.

 

Turn on

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Tap the Airplane mode switch.
  5. Review the Airplane mode message, then tap OK.

 

Turn off

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Tap the Airplane mode switch.

 

Turn on / off data roaming

 

Turn on

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Under WIRELESS NETWORKS, tap More.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap to select the Data roaming check box.
  7. Review the Attention message, then tap Yes.

 

Turn off

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Under WIRELESS NETWORKS, tap More.
  5. Tap Mobile networks.
  6. Tap to clear the Data roaming check box.

 

Turn on / off mobile data

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, tap Menu > List view.
  4. Slide the Mobile data switch to ON/OFF.

 

Turn on / off VoLTE

  1. Tap Settings > Call.
  2. Select VoLTE On/Off.
