Camera & gallery: Sony Xperia Z1s

Use these steps to support gallery functions on the Sony Xperia Z1s.




Camera settings

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Camera icon.
  2. While holding your device horizontally, tap the Shooting mode icon in the bottom-left corner.
  3. Select from the following options:
    • Superior auto: Take photos and videos with automatically optimized settings.
    • Manual: Manually adjust your camera settings to take photos and videos.
    • Info-Eye: Find more information about what you see in the viewfinder!
    • Social Live: Share you experience with your friends live on Facebook.
    • Timeshift Burst: Find the best photo from burst images taken before and after you shot.
    • AR effect: Take photos with virtual scenes and characters.
    • Picture effect: Select an artistic effect to apply to photos.
    • Sweep Panorama: Take a panoramic photo by sweeping your camera.
    • Background defocus: Take photos with beautiful background blur like a DSLR camera.
  4. Tap the Camera Settings icon with three dots.
  5. Select and adjust the following settings. Settings may change depending on shooting mode selected.
    • Camera Tab
      • Resolution
      • Self-timer
      • Smile Shutter
      • Focus Mode
      • HDR
      • ISO
      • Metering
      • Image stabilizer
      • Preview
      • Face registration
    • Settings Tab
      • Quick launch
      • Geotagging
      • Touch capture
      • Use Volume key as
      • Shutter sound
      • Data storage
  6. Tap the Back key to close the camera settings menu.


Change default camera storage

Pictures can be stored on the internal memory (ROM) or SD card.


  1. From any Home screen, tap the Camera icon.
  2. Tap the Camera Settings icon with three dots.
  3. Tap Data storage.
  4. Tap the Settings tab.
  5. Select one of the following:
    • Internal storage
    • SD card


Delete pictures & videos

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon.
  2. Tap Album.
  3. Navigate to the picture or video you want to delete.
  4. Touch and hold the picture or video thumbnail. The file will become highlighted in blue. Video files will display a Play icon over the thumbnail.
  5. Tap the Trash can icon.
  6. Tap Delete to confirm.



  1. Navigate to the screen you want to take a screen shot of.
  2. Touch and hold the Power key.
  3. Tap Take screenshot. To access your saved screen shots, open the Album application.
