Smartphone Mobile Hotspot: Samsung Galaxy S4

Set up

  1. Check that Wi-Fi and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot are turned off.
  2. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap the Connections tab.
  5. Tap More networks.
  6. Tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  7. Tap Mobile HotSpot.
  8. Tap Configure.
  9. Tap to adjust the following settings:
    • Network SSID
    • Broadcast network name (SSID) (on/off)
    • Security
    • Password

  1. Check the Show advanced options box to adjust the following settings:
    • Broadcast channel
    • Auto
    • Maximum connections
    • Timeout settings

Turn on / off

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the Connections tab.
  4. Tap More networks.
  5. Tap Tethering and Mobile HotSpot.
  6. To turn off, tap the Mobile Hotspot Switch to Off. The Switch moves left and turns grey.
  7. To turn on, tap the Mobile HotSpot Switch to On. The Switch moves right and turns green.
  8. You must create a password before using the Mobile HotSpot.
  9. If you are turning on the Mobile HotSpot for the first time, you will be prompted to create a Wi-Fi password.
  10. When the pop-up window appears (pictured below):
    1. Tap the Password field.
    2. Enter the password (passwords must be at least eight characters)
    3. Tap Save.
