Contacts: Samsung Galaxy Note 3

    Use these steps to manage contacts and caller groups on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

     

     

     

    Add contact

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
    4. Tap the Add contact+’ icon.
    5. Tap one of the following options inside the pop-up window to select where the contact will be saved: 
      Note: If the pop-up window does not appear, tap the drop-down arrow below 'Save.'
      • Device
      • SIM
      • Add new account
        Note: If you tap Add new account, follow the prompts to log into your account (for example, a Google account) to add the contact to that account.
    6. Tap the Name field to open the on-screen keyboard and enter the contact’s name. Enter any other desired contact information.
    7. Tap Save.

     

    Add contact to speed dial

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
    2. If necessary, tap the Keypad tab.
    3. Tap the Menu key.
    4. Tap Speed dial setting.
    5. Tap the number you want to assign.
    6. Tap the contact you want to assign to the speed dial number. If the contact has more than one number, tap the desired number.

     

    Add number to caller group

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
    4. Tap the Groups tab.
    5. Tap the desired group.
    6. Tap the "+" icon or else tap the Menu key, tap Edit, and then tap Add member.
    7. Tap to select the check box next to each contact you want to add, or tap to select the Select all check box to add all contacts.
    8. Tap Done. If necessary, tap Save.

     

    Create caller group

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
    4. Tap the Groups tab.
    5. Tap the Menu key.
    6. Tap Create.
    7. Enter the group name.
    8. Swipe up and tap Add member and tap to select the check box next to each contact you want to add. Tap Done.
    9. Tap Save.

     

    Export contacts

    Export moves contacts from the SD card or SIM card.

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
    4. Tap the Menu key.
    5. Tap Settings, then tap Contacts.
    6. Tap Export.
    7. Choose the desired option:
      • Copy your device contacts to SD Card
        1. Tap Export to SD card.
        2. Tap OK to confirm the Export.
      • Copy your device contacts to your SIM card
        1. Tap Export to SIM card.
        2. Tap Select all or else tap each desired contact you want to copy.
        3. Tap Done and then tap OK.

     

    Import contacts

    Import moves contacts to the SD card or SIM card.

     

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
    4. Tap the Menu key.
    5. Settings, then tap Contacts.
    6. Tap Import.
    7. Choose the desired option:
      • Copy your SD card contacts to your device
        1. Tap Import from SD card.
          Note: When Importing contacts, you must select which account you want to import them to. However, if you haven't logged into any accounts, they will import to your phone memory.
        2. If necessary, from the 'Save contact to' pop-up window, tap where you want to save the contacts (for example, Google).
          • If you have a single contact file stored on SD card
            • The contacts copy. You are now finished.
          • If you have two or more contact files stored on SD card
            1. Tap the desired option:
              • Import vCard file
              • Import multiple vCard files
              • Import all vCard files
            2. Tap OK.
            3. If necessary, tap to select the desired Contact file(s) (vCard file) to be imported and then tap OK.
      • Copy your SIM card contacts to your device
        1. Tap Import from SIM card.
          Note: When Importing contacts, you must select which account you want to import them to. This can vary depending on which accounts you have logged into. However, if you haven't logged into any accounts, the contacts will automatically save to your phone memory.
        2. Tap to select the check box next to each contact you want to add, or tap to select the Select all check box to add all contacts.
        3. Tap Select all or tap each desired contact you want to copy.
        4. Tap Done.

     

    Delete contact

    1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
    2. Tap Contacts.
    3. If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
      Note: To delete only contacts from a single contact list (for example, Google), tap the Menu key, tap Contactsto display, and then tap the desired contact list.
    4. Tap the Menu key.
    5. Tap Delete.
    6. Tap to select the check box next to the contact(s) you want to delete.
      Note: You can also tap Select all to delete all contacts.
    7. Tap Delete. Tap OK.
      Note: If you changed your contact display settings, tap the Menu key, tap Contacts to display, and then tap All contacts.
