Anti-theft: Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ has anti-theft and may affect how customers are able to master reset the device. To use anti-theft, follow these steps:

 

Turn on

To turn on the device anti-theft, follow these steps:

 

  1. If a Google ID has already been set up (ex. Email, Play store, Chrome, etc.) and a PIN, password or fingerprint lock has been enabled, anti-theft has been activated automatically.
  2. If a Google ID has not been set up, see the Email accounts procedure. After signing into a Google ID, a PIN, password or fingerprint lock will need to be set up to turn on Anti-theft.

 

Turn off

To turn off the device anti-theft, you will have to sign out of your Google ID on the device and elect to not sign in with a Google ID into any Google services. Once you sign in with a Google ID to any service and setup a PIN, password or fingerprint lock, you are automatically turning on anti-theft.

 

To sign out of your Google ID, follow these steps:

 

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Accounts.
  4. Tap Google.
  5. Tap your Google ID email address. If you have multiple accounts setup, you will need to repeat these steps for each account.
  6. Tap More.
  7. Tap Remove account.
  8. Tap REMOVE ACCOUNT.

 

Android 7.0 Nougat

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Cloud and accounts.
  4. Tap Accounts.
  5. Tap Google.
  6. Tap your Google ID email address. If you have multiple accounts setup, you will need to repeat these steps for each account.
  7. Tap Menu.
  8. Tap Remove account.
  9. Tap REMOVE ACCOUNT.
