Notifications & ringtones: Samsung Galaxy Core prime

Learn how to set alerts, ringtones, and notifications on the Samsung Galaxy Core prime.

 

 

 

Emergency alerts

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messages.
  2. Tap the MORE in the top right.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Emergency alert settings.
  5. Tap Emergency alerts to set which alert types to receive.
  6. Move the switch to ON or OFF for the following:
    • Presidential alerts (there is no OFF option)
    • Imminent extreme alert
    • Imminent severe alert
    • AMBER alerts
  7. Tap the back arrow key.
  8. On Alert sound, move the switch to ON or OFF to have the Emergency alert sound played for the selected type of alert.

 

Incoming email

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'Device,' tap Sounds and notifications.
  4. Under 'Sound,' tap Ringtones and sounds.
  5. Tap the desired notification type and tap the Notification sound.
  6. Select the notification sound.
  7. Tap the back arrow in the upper left corner, the selection is automatically saved.

 

Ringtones

Ringtone for all calls

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under 'Device,' tap Sounds and notifications.
  4. Under 'Sound,' tap Ringtones and sounds.
  5. Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone.
  6. Tap the back arrow in the upper left corner, the selection is automatically saved.

 

Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the desired contact.
  3. Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
  4. Tap Ringtone.
  5. Tap the desired ringtone to assign it to the contact and then tap OK.
  6. Tap Save.
