    Battery saving mode

     

    To turn on, turn off, or use battery life saving features on the device, follow these steps:

     

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Scroll to PHONE MANAGEMENT,' then tap Battery & power saving.
    4. Tap the Battery saver switch to turn it on or off.

     

     

    Battery saving mode settings

     

    To change settings for the battery life saving feature, follow these steps:

     

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Scroll to PHONE MANAGEMENT,' then tap Battery & power saver.
    4. Tap the Battery saver switch to turn on.
    5. Select Turn Battery Saver on.
    6. Select or clear check boxes for Battery saver options:
      • Immediately
      • 5% battery
      • 15% battery

     

     

    Tips to save battery life

     

    To save and extend battery life, follow these steps:

     

    Turn off Smart Settings not used at home

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Scroll to 'SMART FUNCTIONS,' then tap Smart settings.
    4. Tap all sliders Off.

     

    Adjust video quality in games

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Scroll to 'Phone Management,' then tap Battery & power saving.
    4. Tap Game optimizer slider to Off.

     

    Lower screen brightness and timeout duration

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the Display tab.
    3. Under 'BASIC SETTINGS,' tap Brightness.
    4. Move the Brightness slider left to decrease brightness.
    5. Tap Screen timeout and choose one of these options:
      • 15 seconds
      • 30 seconds

    2. Tap the Display tab.
    3. Under 'BASIC SETTINGS,' tap Brightness.

    Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the Networks tab.
    3. Under 'CONNECTIVITY,' tap Tethering.
    4. Tap Mobile HotSpot.
    5. Tap to turn off the Mobile HotSpot switch..
    6. Tap the Back key to return to the Settings menu.
    7. Tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to turn off.
    8. Tap General tab.
    9. Under 'PERSONAL,' then tap Location.
    10. Tap Mode, then select Battery saving (Networks only).

    Change application sync settings

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Under 'PERSONAL,' and tap Accounts & sync.
    4. Clear the Auto-sync data check box.
    5. Select an application under ACCOUNTS to update its sync settings.

     

    Turn off background data

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the Networks tab.
    3. Tap Mobile data.
    4. Tap the Menu key.
    5. Select the Restrict background data check box.
    6. Tap OK.

     

    Minimize use of third party applications

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Under  PHONE MANAGEMENT,' and then tap Apps.
    4. Tap the DOWNLOADED tab.
    5. Touch and hold the desired app.
    6. Tap Force stop to turn off or Uninstall to remove.

     

    Toggle from 4G to 2G

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the Networks tab.
    3. Under 'CONNECTIVITY,' tap More.
    4. Tap Mobile networks > Network mode.
    5. Select or clear the GSM only check box.

    Update to the latest software

    1. Drag down the notification bar and tap the Settings icon Settings icon.png at the top-right.
    2. Tap the General tab.
    3. Scroll down to PHONE MANAGEMENT,' and then tap About phone.
    4. Tap Update Center> System updates.
    5. Tap CHECK FOR UPDATE.
    6. Follow any additional prompts.

     

    Set device to sleep when unused

    1. Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.
    2. To activate the screen, press and then quickly release the Power key again.
