Backup & restore: LG Stylo 2 PLUS

Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the LG Stylo 2 PLUS.

 

 

 

Back up apps

To back up your apps, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset.
  4. Tap to select the Back up my data checkbox.

 

Back up contacts

To back up your contacts, follow these steps:

 

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset > LG Backup > Backup & restore.
  4. Tap Back up data and verify LG Cloud is selected.
  5. If prompted, sign into your LG Account.
  6. Select Personal data and deselect the other options.
  7. Expand the Personal data folder and ensure Contacts is selected.
  8. Tap Start to begin the backup. This may take several minutes.
  9. When 'Back up completed' displays, tap Done.

 

Back up to your SD card

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset > LG Backup > Backup & restore.
  4. Tap Back up data and verify SD Card is selected.
  5. Select the items you wish to backup.
  6. Tap Start to begin the backup. This may take several minutes.
  7. When 'Backup completed' displays, tap Done.

 

Back up media & pictures

From phone

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset > LG Backup > Backup & restore.
  4. Select Media data. Deselect the non-media options.
  5. Expand the Media data folder and make desired selections.
  6. Tap Start to begin the backup. This may take several minutes.
  7. When Back up completed displays, tap Done.

 

From computer - PC

  1. Connect your phone to a PC using the MicroUSB cable attached to your LG charger.
  2. If prompted, select Media sync (MTP).
  3. On the PC, open My computer.
  4. Right-click the backup file (ending with .sbf) and select Copy.
  5. Right-click location to save backup file to on computer.
  6. Paste the backup file to the PC.

 

Restore apps

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset.
  4. Under 'LG BACKUP, tap Restore from backup.
  5. Locate and tap the contacts backup.
  6. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
  7. When 'Restored' displays, tap Done.
  8. The phone reboots to complete the restore.

 

Restore contacts

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset.
  4. Under 'LG Backup service,' tap Restore from backup.
  5. Locate and tap the SD card backup.
  6. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
  7. When the 'Restored' displays, tap Done.
  8. The phone reboots to complete the restore.

 

Restore contacts from SD card

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Contacts.
  2. Tap Menu > Manage contacts > Import.
  3. In the ‘From’ section, tap SD card.
  4. In the ‘To’ section, tap desired location (Phone, Google account), then tap OK.
  5. If presented with a permissions screen, tap ALLOW.
  6. Tap the desired contact(s), then tap IMPORT.
  7. Tap Select all to copy all contacts from the SD card, then tap Import.

 

Restore media & pictures

From phone

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Backup & reset.
  4. Under 'LG BACKUP, tap Restore from backup.
  5. Locate and tap the media backup.
  6. Tap Start to begin the restore. This may take several minutes.
  7. When the 'Restore completed' displays, tap RESTART.
  8. The phone reboots to complete the restore.

 

From computer - PC

  1. Connect your phone to a PC using the MicroUSB cable attached to your LG charger.
  2. If prompted, select Media sync (MTP).
  3. On the PC, open My computer.
  4. Right-click the backup file (ending with .sbf) and select Copy.
  5. Right-click location to save backup file to on the phone folder on the PC
  6. Paste the backup file to the desired phone folder on the PC.
