You can use it in a location within our operating areas and where we have an established relationship with local public safety answering points to support 911 services. Be sure to update your 911 address with us.
Can I use multiple T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot devices to cover large buildings?
Multiple mini-towers can be deployed in the same general area; however, deploying mini-towers in high T-Mobile traffic area could lead to call setup failure when the device is out of capacity. In this scenario, the devices will not interfere with one another, but they will not work together. For example, an active call will not handoff from one mini-tower to another. Therefore, multiple devices should not be in close proximity or used as a single solution to address coverage issues in large buildings.
How many simultaneous voice and data sessions are supported by my 4G LTE CellSpot device?
It will support up to 8 simultaneous sessions on 3G/4G UTMS technology and 8 on LT technology. This can be active voice sessions or active data sessions.
If I start a call on the T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot and leave the device coverage area, will my call get dropped?
Calls originating from the 4G LTE CellSpot automatically try to hand over to T-Mobile outdoor network if a strong outdoor network signal is available to transfer to. Handoff is not guaranteed due to outdoor network availability and coverage levels.
If I start a call outside the T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot coverage area and move into 4G LTE CellSpot coverage area, will my call get dropped?
Calls initiated on the T-Mobile outdoor network are not automatically handed over to the 4G LTE CellSpot, even if within the 4G LTE CellSpot coverage area. Once the active call is ended, the phone should automatically detect and connect to the 4G LTE CellSpot signal.
Is the T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot available to purchase? Is there a deposit?
The T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot is not available for purchase, but is available to loan to qualified customers with $25 refundable deposit upon device return.
Is there a minimum internet speed requirement for T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot? Will satellite internet work?
Minimum internet speeds of 2Mbps downlink and 512Kbps uplink are recommended. Satellite internet isn’t recommended as it affects product performance.
Is there a separate pricing plan for T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot?
No. 4G LTE CellSpot customers use their existing service plan with T-Mobile, meaning data used over the 4G LTE CellSpot counts against your data plan. To access data without it counting against your plan, use Wi-Fi.
What data speed can I expect from 4G LTE CellSpot?
