Master reset: Samsung Dart

Learn how to master reset the Samsung Dart through the menu or hardware keys.

 

 

 

 

Master reset from settings menu

 

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory. See: Back up & restore.
  2. From the Home screen Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Privacy.
  5. Tap Factory data reset.
  6. Tap Reset phone.
  7. Tap Erase everything.

 

 

Master reset with hardware keys

 

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

 

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset, follow these steps:

 

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
    1. Back up all necessary data. See: Preparing for a master reset on Android.
    2. Turn on the device by holding the Volume Up key and the Power key.
    3. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the keys.
      • Note: If you see a Downloading screen with an Android shoveling, it indicates that you pressed the wrong Volume key. Remove and reinsert the battery to try again.

    4. Using the volume keys, scroll to Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
    5. Press the Power key to confirm.
    6. Scroll to Yes -- delete all user.
    7. Press the Power key to confirm.
    8. Once complete, scroll to Reboot System Now.
    9. Press the Power key to confirm.
    10. The phone will display a confirmation message when the reset is complete.
